Military locator, military links and military family resources.   Locate military people and veterans you knew from the past.

If you want to locate a person that is on active duty in the military, is retired or is a veteran you can use the resource links below. Some of the sites will tap directly into a database for your search, others will require you to scan through a name list or a member list to see if the person you're looking for is located there.

  US Military Search
As a minimum you'll need the military person's last name and approximate age. Having other information such as their first name, middle initial and state will help but it's not required. The results will return results with first name, middle initial (if available) last name, actual age, city, and state. Premium information (phone and address details) are available as an option, you can also complete additional research through our reverse lookup search or Google Glasses sections.

  Department of Defense DMDC Search
Enter name and SSN or name and birth information. Upon clicking the "Look Up" button, based on the SSN and other personal information furnished, the Department will advise you that it does not possess information regarding whether the individual is on active duty, or that is does possess information indicating that the individual is on active duty.

  Selective Service Registration Verification
This service allows you to look up a service member's selective service number, as well as the date registered. Only registrations of men born on or after January 1, 1960, can be verified through this system. This service is operational seven days a week. It is not available when system maintenance is scheduled from 2 a.m. to 4 a.m., U.S. Central Time, Tuesday through Saturday.

  Military Unit and Group Search
Search the five Military branches by browsing the various unit's or groups. Units and groups are broken down further into Aviation, Infantry, Administrative etc.

  The American War Library
This was established by veterans in 1988. It's the world's largest online military, veteran, and military family registry with over 72 million listings from pre-revolutionary war to the present.

  Military Connections - Find a Buddy
They have over 450,000 active duty, reserve, war veterans and retired military personnel in their database.

  Defense POW and MIA Search
This is the Defense prisoner of war and missing personnel office. It does not have a searchable database, however it foes contain much needed information and links if your goal is to locate information on a POW or Missing Person.

  Disabled American Veterans (DAV)
The DAV site has a large repository of membership sites, member lists and other contact information available to you.

  USAF and USAAF Accident Crew Name Lists
This is a large list of US Air Force and US Army Air Force military members and civilians involved in air accidents over many decades. It has been compiled from official documents and other sources. Reports or other documents on these individuals are available with a few exceptions. You can browse by alphabetical listing, or by year of the incident.

  Federal Citizen Information Center
There are phone numbers and contact information located at this web site so you can talk with someone within the government that can get you pointed in the right direction.

  US Veteran's Grave Locator
Search for burial locations of veterans and their family members in VA National Cemeteries, state veterans cemeteries, various other military and Department of Interior cemeteries, and for veterans buried in private cemeteries when the grave is marked with a government grave marker. The Nationwide Gravesite Locator includes burial records from many sources.
